On 26 mar 2019 , The USA recognized Israel sovereignty over Golan heights, nullifying a half a century US policy.Golan Heights was under international law to be occupied territory since its 1967 seizure from Syria and a conflict between Syria and Israel over decades.

Since Trump made his decision - first announced on Twitter - and his declaration - signed a ratified a few days later - 14 out of 15 United Nations Security Council member states condemned the move.
Hassan Rohani said President Donald Trump's decision this week is "trampling on international regulations about the Golan," adding "Iranians too should resist and that way gain victory" over the U.S. and Israel.
