Who will win the Race to the Moon ?

It has been predicted that space dominance will play a key role in technological advancements in the 21st century. Many known scientists and scholars of astronomy predict that the country which dominates the space will dominate the 21st century and the upcoming years. Thus with the recent failure of Israel for not being able to land its rover on the moon the race to the moon is back.

China (CNSA) currently play as the front runner in the race with the American space agency NASA and the Indian space agency ISRO just behind it. The CNSA has already accomplished many applaud able feats like the growing of the cotton plants on the surface of the moon. Although it is considered that the Chinese were late into space, sending its first astronaut into the orbit in 2003 – 40 years after the Soviet Union and the US were embarking on their space race. It was long considered that with the US triumph to the moon the agendas to the moon were “OVER”. BUT WHY THIS SUDDEN EXCITEMENT AND ENTHUSIASM?

Well, there has been a part of the moon that has long been overseen and not looked for that is the “FAR SIDE OF THE MOON” or famously known as “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON”. Now no country or space agency has ever tried to venture to this side of the moon and thus with Beijing’s dream of venturing and finding out the riches there, the race has once again been kick-started. With the plan of CNSA to land their CHANG’E 4 probe, it will make them the first in the history of mankind to explore this uncharted territory. Possibly spurred on by China’s plan, other space agencies are showing a renewed interest in the moon. Beijing does not disclose how much it has spent on its space programme. It has further planned to send CHANG’E 5 there to return with samples from the moon and by CHANG’E 8 China hopes to lay a foundation for a research lab.

Will China dominate the space in upcoming years or will it be NASA who catches up with them ? The answer lies in the womb of the future..
